Working As A Massage Therapist On A Cruise Line Would Suck!!

by AMANDA HENSON
(FORT SMITH, AR US)

They expect you to work 12 hours a day and probably 5 days a week or more. If you add that up to a whole months salary compared to working for yourself it would equal to 1/3 less pay. It takes work getting a clientele built up but you would only be working for an average of $12 an hour and you didn't go to school to work that cheap did you. If you would get out there and build up your own clientele then it wouldn't be long before you would be making your own money and it would be better then working under someone else that cheap. If you want to be on a cruise i would suggest make a profit working for yourself and then go take a cruise with all the money you make. But working on a cruise line for a salary like that is just wrong, so think twice before you do something like that.

Low Pay?
by: Anonymous

Considering they pay for your flight to & from port, your food costs the entire time working, and your room & board is covered, you can save all of the money that you make while working because you have no expenses.

I was thinking....
by: Holly

I am a massage therapist and was thinking
About looking for a job on a cruse liner
But after reading all the cons I don't think
I seen one pro iv seen the charge you to be
On ship because your takeing up space,
They treat you like a slave, they charge you
To work on ship, you have all most no time
To recoup and regain ur center and get paid
Not that well if you do the math you and not
Just look at the big number they show you
You have to sell stuff and can't enjoy ur passion
In life helping other feel better you get to distroy
Your body and your not allowed any sick time
Which in today's world is just crazy if you think
About it...traveling all over the world and touching
People all the time there is a lot of sickness that
You come in contact with...so then u cough and
Sneeze and touch ur clint...there is a BAD IDEA!
I no longer thing working on a ship is for me
I'll just stay on land :) where I can walk out if need be
And not have to swim home....lol
That was just a small list of negative backlash
I have found good luck for those who are brave
Enough to take that chance just not how I like to work
