Work in Paradise

by Jeff Winters
(Miami, FL USA)

Wouldn't have changed anything, except maybe that the cruise would have gone on longer. Beautiful people, beautiful weather, and a great staff made for some of the most unbelievable times I've had. I'd recommend everyone giving it a try, at least once.

What cruise line?
by: Caitlin

I see so many people saying that they have had such horrible experiences working on cruise lines. It's something that I would really love to try at least once. What cruise line did you work for?

i need some encouragement
by: Anonymous

Im almost finish with school. The school that I attend is a very good school with alot of hands on. I know I get brownie points for that. I want to give the cruise ship a try! I want to know what characteristics make a good experience! I know its going to be hard work facing reality. I also think that if u love your profession then you will not mine about working 12 day cruises. i just need to know where to head and how to get started.

Long hours, few days off

Hi, Can anyone comment on whether it was their experience to work twelve hour days with only one day off in eleven when working for Steiner as massage or beauty therapist?

My Experience as a Massage therapist
by: Anonymous

I worked as Massage and although the hours are tough, you really only feel it in the first 2 weeks when your body adjust to it. After that the only reason i was tired was because i was up in the crew bar all night! Plenty of people about you, all really nice, everyone holds you up when you have a hard day which is natural but the guests keep you going too. It was a great experience and i'm hoping to get back. Steiner are big bullies but its more like boot camp training, if you respond well to that then you can deal with it. Just let them have their rant and do you job the best you can and they will ease of and respect you. Its hard work mentally and physically but if you want it you'll love it. I have taken a year long break and an dying to get out of the UK. Ship life is the best life you are completely safe, everything is paid for, your ironing is done for you, food is buffet and there are girls galore. Go join your ship and enjoy your youth!!
