Wise Choice?

I have been looking into the possibility of going to Massage Therapy school because this is something that I'm not only very interested in, but also love to do. But of course I do need to find out if this decision to get involved with this industry is a wise choice or something that I will regret later on down the road because I'm not paying the bills. What are your thoughts?

Good question

I was in a similar position as yourself 8 months ago. I currently build helicopters for a living and make a lot of money doning so. I like what I do but don't love it. Massage has always interested me and this past March I decided to enroll at the Arizona School of Massage therapy and have loved it every step of the way. All the the teachers are great and actually care about the students. School is not a chore when you like going to it and I look foward to going nearly every day. Make sure your school has a variety of modalities so you can have a better potential of making more money after graduation.

I'm actually starting massage therapy school myself this coming Monday, 1/3/11. I already have a full time job. So, when I'm done in 2/2012, I'll be looking to work a couple of nights a week to earn extra money. Then, once I retire, it'll be a second career for me. I'm lucky that my employer's paying for my tuition, and all I have to do is pay for books.

I spent 3yrs goin to school for Pharmacy Tech training and I didnt really care for it, plus the school wasnt accredited and I didnt care for the staff...I myself am enrolling in Massage Therapy school this mid-fall semester and Im excited about it. I just recently had a massge this past wknd and I enjoyed everything from the relaxing environment to the actual massage and the look of the spa in general...Enjoyed it so that I decided that day that thats what I wanted to do, help people relax and benefit by relaxing as well..I agree with what the gentleman said earlier, do what you love to do and get paid for it, not what you have to do and not enjoy it, it becomes a strain....
