The Massage Curriculum
The Sanford Brown Institute is a popular U.S. massage school because of the variety in techniques offered at their campuses. Foundational courses dealing with anatomy and clinical pathology of diseases and injuries are some of the first classes a student will come across. Students also learn about therapeutic massage, including the history, advantages, and precautions. Safe practice skills are stressed, such as client intake and emergency management (CPR and First Aid). An array of popular massage strokes is also taught, including direct pressure and kneading.
When one is interested in becoming a student at the Sanford Brown Institute, applying to the short-term program provides a wealth of educational opportunities with a possible completion of nine months. The typical class schedule for the school sees courses beginning every five weeks with instruction given during both the day and the evening. In the end of schooling, either a certificate or diploma is granted to graduates, which depends on which campus location was attended. For example, the Atlanta campus offers certificates of completion, while the Fort Lauderdale and Cleveland locations provide diplomas.
