About the ProgramThe Everest College Massage Therapy program promotes well being and higher quality of life. It gives you the foundational skills, knowledge and training needed to get your U.S. massage certification and start a practice or find employment as a massage Therapist. Prep for U.S. Massage CertificationIn many states, in order for a candidate to take the exams for U.S. Massage Certification, you must have received five hundred hours of supervised instruction and graduated from an accredited school like Everest College and Everest Institute. Currently, thirty-seven states and the District of Columbia regulate the practice of Massage Therapy. Different states have diverse requirements to become licensed in Massage Therapy. The Everest U.S. massage certification program will prepare you for the National Certification Examination of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB) and the National Certification for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM). Both exams contain material that includes general knowledge of body systems, detailed knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology and Pathology. You must also have knowledge of Therapeutic Massage assessment and application and finally, professional standards, ethics business and legal practices.

Everest College, headquartered in Salt Lake City, is a two year private for profit institution. It opened its doors to students in 1982 as the Academy of Business College. The original focus of the institution was business, however its courses expanded to include computer, medical and legal curriculums. In 1994, Everest College was approved by the American Bar Association for its Legal Assistant program. Among the many business and professional programs that are offered by this school, it also offers a strong Massage Therapy curriculum.
I went to Everest and so did another therapist at our spa. I really like my teachers and would rate the experience very favorably but my coworker didn't like the program as much. If you are wanting to learn exotic therapies you may want to look elsewhere. But for a good understanding of the most common massage techniques, Everest College was a good program
