Show Your Personality to Get the Job

Of course, it is important to highlight your certification(s) and your education along with any experience, but if you are trying to get your first job in the field, you need to distinguish your resume from everyone else.

I would suggest that you focus on additional qualities and interests that you can bring to the job, and show a little of your personality in your resume. For example, maybe you have a lot of customer service experience in other jobs -- that shows that you care about other people. Maybe you create your own mix tapes to use during sessions or you've worked in a store that sells candles so you're familiar with the power of scent -- those are things that can help your resume get noticed and hopefully get you that job.

That's what I did and it really made a difference because it gave me something to talk about during the interview besides the standard background and training.
