One Great Afternoon

I was gainfully employed at a local day spa, when we received a call from a business in a nearby industrial park. They were planning a "health fair" at the nearby Holiday Inn and wanted to know if someone could show up with a massage table to work on people who were attending this fair.

The receptionist asked those of us who were working that day if we would be interested. I agreed. Without checking with me, the receptionist told the person from the company that I would come out for $70 per hour that day. I would have done it for less.

The circumstances were that everyone was fully clothed, of course, so myself and a few other MTs from other areas showed up and we did some compression, massaged hands, sometimes arms...it was really easy.

The company provided us with a great lunch buffet, as the big hotels usually do and we just worked on various people who would walk by and show an interest. Most of them knew little or nothing about massage, but gave it a try. Everyone was happy.

I made about $400 that day, was thanked profusely and was treated like a much desired guest.
It was great!
