Transfering license to Fl.

First you must make sure that your credits from the AZ school match what is required in FL. You can accomplish this by calling a massage school in your new area to verify. I already know that you will have at least a 15 hour course in ethics and FL laws to take. Once your transcripts match what FL requires, you can apply to the state of FL for a license as long as you have your National Certification up to date. If not, you will have to retake one of two exams MbLex or NCET.

moving to az also

I checked out the requirements for AZ and I live here in WI. AZ requires you to be Nationally certified and state certified. They also require you to have 700 hours of schoolin/training. WI only requires 600 and I have 630 so I will need to do 70 more in CE. AZ only allows 12 CE's from online courses, the rest needs to come from classroom hands on training. Not cheap in any way after paying all this for school and getting nationally certified. Too bad the requirements cannot be the same for all states and eliminate the frustrations and confusions all around. All other occupations require it so why not Massage. Sure can discourage one in a hurry. Now there are new rulings in effect for WI and the state laws too, no fun here. Always politics getting in the way of someones profession. Good luck and happy massaging.

I am licensed in AZ and moving to florida
by: Wayne

I have been licensed for 10 years here and pretty sure I have over 80 hours when I was originally licensed and now just take credit hours every two years to stay in compliance. Does anyone know If I have to re take any certification or national to get a licence in Florida or just take what extra credit classes that might be required. Waynegeb@aol.com

Thank you
