Moving from Florida to England

by Chelsea Smith
(Mulberry, Florida)

I am a newly Licensed and Board Certified massage therapist here in Florida where I was born and raised and have planned on transfering my license to be able to work in London, England one day. I can't find anything on how I should transfer my license or even how much it would cost or how long the process itself would take. If anyone who is working in England or moved there from the US as a massage therapist could help, I would love to have these questions answered about both certification and license transfers/regulations to work as a practioner in London. Thank you.

states to the UK

I'm also researching the same thing about moving to UK with MT certification. I believe I may have read somewhere that if you contact a massage organization in the UK, then they may be able to answer your questions. I think if you provide proof of your membership with like AMTA, for example, then the UK massage organization may accept that and allow you to practice massage when you transfer to the UK organization. Not sure, but it's a good start.
