Massage Empathy
by Lynsey
(England)
I think that my most important quality was that I was totally passionate and committed to being a massage therapist! I loved the job, and never minded if someone called unexpectedly for a last minute emergency massage!
I think that a quality you need to have as a massage therapist is to be able to show empathy with your client and listen to what they have to say, sometimes what a client tells you before a treatment will play a major role in deciding where that treatment is headed.
I think that another great quality is being able to read a persons body language, this is another great tool in deciding what treatment a client may need and can sometimes be invaluable, especially if you have a client that isn't big on talking or you feel doesn't always tell you the truth!
