How old is too old?

My kids are going off to college, and I want to start a career as a massage therapist. I am 42, fit and healthy, but do employers only want to hire 20-somethings?

I started participating in masters springboard diving competitions at 46. I was very successful. Never make age a stopping point. Your attitude and spirit will get you hired. I worked with a massage therapist that was 60 years old. She worked 30 hours and week and was one of the best therapists I have ever met to this day. Like everything, take care of yourself and with the right attitude, don't let anything stop you from following a dream.

Average age of MTs

I believe that according to a recent survey of the massage industry, the average age of the practicing massage therapist is 40. I went thru my class when was 32, wasn't able to practice professionally and now am 38 trying to get back into it!

Don't give up! Just do what you do and you will find the right fit for who you are.
