Launch Your Business

Home or Away?

by V Hesketh

There are huge bonuses in working from home, you are your own boss, you plan treatments to fit in with your family commitments and if something crops up you can usually juggle appointments to still leave everyone happy.

But there can be a downside to working from home. What happens if you don’t attract enough customers to earn the money you need to pay household bills? When working from home you have to ensure that you actually do work. Suppose something goes wrong with a treatment, unlikely I know but you have to be prepared for everything. Make sure you have adequate insurance cover, an unhappy customer could leave you in dire straits.

Is your home really suitable for all customers? Might you need to make some costly changes before being able to accept your first customer? If you can plan for problems that may never arise then working at home is a wonderful option. Giving you time to evolve your new business whilst still taking care of family issues
