High Fee Charge

by Jonathan
(San Diego, California, USA)

I recently worked on a cruise ship as a massage therapist. The ship I was on was fairly popular, and contained numerous amounts of elderly citizens who had a high demand for massages. This category of patient tipped well and did little complaining. These tips contributed well to my overall income for the two months I worked on the ship.

The ship charged a crazy amount of money for my services on the ship. This made a considerable dent in my income. So I advise all massage therapists out there to shop around for the lowest ship commissions possible. Good luck.

ship charges..
by: D. J.

How can you shop for a certain cruiseline if Steiner is the one that assigns a ship to you?

How can a cruiseline "charge you" for the services you are performing for them? Example: if you are hired at $7.25 an hr. ( min. wage) PLUS tips...why should you be giving the cruise line part of your tips?? Aren't they charging guest to the spa anyway? In the range of $60 - $125 a one hr. session? You are only getting $7.25 for that hr. and they are getting the rest.
