Help Getting Started as a Massage Therapist
I came across this site and I appreciate the time you all spent on giving this information away. I am 23 years old and graduated with a BS. However, western medicine is not something I want to pursue: I find myself drawn to massage therapy. Is it too late to start school? My goals are high: I'd like to have my own practice, but I am afraid I am feeling impatient. After reading through the articles on this site, I realized it is more realistic to first work for a spa for a few years and only if I am successful in having a high client list can I successfully pursue to have it be my own business. What do you think? Furthermore, this may sound weird but, I have no experience in massage therapy, and I am fairly small in size. My arms are pretty skinny and I am wondering if I will even be physically fit (i.e. be able to endure) enough to give 5 massages a day, five days a week. Should I just sign up for a massage class (one semester) at a local community college to discover first if massage therapy is for me? sorry for the load of questions. Take your time answering, and thanks for your assistance. Marlene
