Getting the Necessary Skills
by Maria
(San Diego, USA)
When I finished my school, I already had the money to start my own business in a moderate set up. But I knew I wasn't ready. I needed to gain experience. I worked for two different massage therapy clinics in a space of about three years. It helped me to perfect my massage skills.
Not only that, I observed and learned the management and marketing skills used by these businesses. I also used this time to research on the internet to learn from other people's experience. Once I was confident that my customers are happy and come back to me because they find me good, I knew I was ready.
The marketing skills I learned while working, helped me gain new clients. Some of my regular clients from my previous place kept coming to me. I really think, one should gain the necessary skills before plunging yourself into their own business. Working for your own self is harder than working for someone else.
