Florida Massage Therapy Schools

florida massage schoolsFinding the best Florida Massage School training can be tough with so many options available.

I have found that relying on word of mouth plus extensive research will help you make the most important decision of your new massage career. So check out what our readers are saying about the top massage therapy schools in Florida.

Below we offer some tips on find a good Florida massage school. And of course certain items like accreditation are mandatory. But a lot of the other factors like techniques covered and price will appeal to different people. Keep that in mind when you read reviews from students. Even great schools disappoint some students, and sometimes average schools meet the needs to certain students well.

Choosing the Best Massage Schools in Florida?

florida massage therapy schoolsI have broken down the research process into these easy steps. Don't rush, be thorough... It will cost you a lot of wasted time and money if you have to change massage schools.

1) Review all of the listings for the Florida massage therapy schools below.

2) For schools that interest you, follow the links to request more information about their program. They will contact you with detailed information about their program.

3) This is where it gets challenging. You have to sort through all the material and try to choose a handful of schools (no more than six) that really interest you.

4) Contact each school directly and make an appoint to visit with the admissions staff. They should give you a tour of the school and answer any questions you have. If a school is reluctant to answer certain questions you should consider that a warning flag.

5) If you are still interested in the program, make an appointment to observe a class in session. Don't be afraid to ask questions of the students and instructors after class. This step should help you determine what school "feels" the best to you. Schools should give you as much access as you need (without violating the privacy of its students).

6) Decision Time! Hopefully there is a strong front runner to make your decision easier. But if you are stuck between two choice, you may want to repeat step 5 again.

Additional Selection Tips to Consider

Laws concerning massage therapy vary from state to state. It is vital that the facility you choose has a course, which complies with the laws of the state where you reside or will be working in the massage therapy business. In the case of Florida, you must have 500 hours of instruction. Any school that doesn't offer at least 500 hours should be eliminated from your consideration.

Make a list of questions to ask the administrators, teachers and students at each school that you have selected. And don't be afraid to ask tough questions. Make sure that you speak with at least one instructor and a number of students. As one of the biggest choices you will be making, don’t be timid or bashful about asking a lot of questions.
