Fair Massage Prices for Flexibility

Everyone loves a discount, or a good value, so I try to offer both to my clients. I offer discounts to students, pregnant women and seniors- it's not much, 10%, but that gets people's attention when I advertise, and builds loyalty, because they know they are going to get a good price.
I also offer packages for every reason- Valentine's, Mother's Day, couples, anniversary, a package of three massages for a set price, etc. I always try to work with the client to meet their needs.
That said, I make sure my needs are met. I factor in the cost of gas if I travel, the oils I use, etc. and figure out the absolute minimum I charge, and use that as a starting point. I even explain to people how I arrive at the pricing structure, and that makes some of them feel better about the price they pay. I also try to make it a rewarding experience for the client- they can pick music or scent for the oil or the scented candles I use, and I work to address any concerns they might have- muscle stiffness, shyness, stress, whatever.
I've been asked to provide massages for silent auctions and as raffle prizes, which I do fairly often- supporting a cause is a great way to meet and retain clients. I also try to be flexible with my time- late or early appointments, if they have to cancel, etc.
Finally, I also have a price list, and if I update it, I let people know in advance when they book an appointment, and I explain it- cost of gas, equipment, time involved, etc. If I explain this, and why it is fair, most people seem pretty receptive to it.
