Effective Massage Advertising

When you first get out into the business, it is a real temptation to blow all your seed money on advertising. DON'T DO IT! It rarely works, and when it does, it provides a poor return as compared to what is invested.

Yellow pages ads are a type of advertising that do work, but cost a great deal of money: like $200-$400 PER MONTH! When I used yellow page ads before, I also got all my money back and more. I never lost out, but yellow page ads will produce some really weird calls and many clients who are shopping on price only, so just be aware.

I've found that websites to be the most COST EFFECTIVE form of advertising. After all, you're here on the web right now. At least you know that if someone found your services on the web, they have enough money to buy a computer and probably can afford a massage.

You can have a professional build your site but I don't recommend it. While they can build a great looking site, pro web sites can be expensive to build, expensive to host, and any changes you want made in the future to your site will cost you money.

The most important aspect of why I don't recommend a pro web designer is that while they all seem to know who to build a kick-ass looking site, few of them know how to get your site listed on the first page of a search engines search results.
