Did not want to work for anyone
by Katie Wilcox
(Spokane, WA.)
When I started school I knew I wouldn't want to work for a spa or salon for minimum wage. Sure it would be an easier way to build up a clientèle but with a little more work I can do that on my own. And that's what its all about. Being willing to work harder than I have ever worked before. I know clients will love me and my work so why not dive right in? So long as I make sure i buy all of my supplies and have a thousand dollars in savings first. I plan on renting a few days from another independent massage practitioner, for about $200 a month, while working PT at my current job. As I build up a clientèle I can decide if I want to go full time to make myself more available. I also took a marketing class and will use friends that work for large companies and the local paper to get my name out there!
