Brandon Raynor's Massage School

by Bob
(Cape Cod, Ma)

I am seeking any information about Brandon Raynor's school of massage therapy.

My daughter is currently studying massage therapy here in MA, but we will be moving to Wyoming in June. She is concerned that there is no massage school there. She found Raynor's web site, but I am very concerned if this 'school" is on the level.

Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Raynor is a Science of Identity Foundation member
by: Cult Activist

You might also notice that Brandon Raynor's site links to Science of Identity Foundation and Chris Butler Jagad Guru. Chris Butler is Raynor's guru whose teachings are included as part of the syllabus. "Who Are You?" by Chris Butler does not discuss massage or natural therapies what so ever, rather it teaches that one is a spirit soul. This is a religious text used for indoctrinating people into Butler's Science of Identity Foundation.

Brandon Raynor was a member of the SoI Australian branch 'Australian School of Meditation' since the early 1990s. FirmnFold massage tables is a company that Brandon Raynor endorses which is run by Rob Crisfield who is also a member of the Australian School of Meditation. Ray Linsley is a massage instructor for Brandon Raynor and is also a senior disciple of Chris Butler. Linsley is the spokesperson for the Australian School of Meditation.

Not Suitable for career oriented training
by: Anonymous

Anyone can do a basic massage and that is the premise of the education at this school. You can learn a lot in a week or even a weekend. But the difference between a person graduating from a high quality school and a weekend workshop is like night and day.

If a person knows how to run and build a business and is good at self promotion, they can probably build a reasonable practice without any training.

However, the majority of licensing as well as the minimum requirement of any reputable spa or clinic is 500 hours of training, even though Raynor insists that is just a rip-off.

Unfortunately, for the person taking the course, they won't realize until it's too late that they need more training to succeed.

Bottom line, if you are looking for an introduction to massage, this is probably adequate. But if you want to succeed as a professional, you will need much more training from a professional level school.
