Being a Good Massage Therapist
by Jane
(Mansfield, MA)
What helped me most in my career as a MT, I believe, is that I feel that the mind-body connection is important. I am less interested in, say, sports massage. I believe the spiritual side of humans dealing with other humans creates a pathway for spiritual development for both. I thoroughly enjoy working on people who are going through difficult times (whether they share that or not). I was once told that I had "quiet hands" by a client after the treatment. I took that as a compliment. I have also had people cry during my treatments. (No jokes on that one....I mean that they were touched at their very soul.)
