Named a 2004 School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), Atlanta School of Massage has been an international leader in massage therapy education for over 25 years. Of the many massage schools operating in Georgia, we earned the honor of being the first authorized by the US Department of Education to offer Title IV funding and the first massage school in Georgia to receive accreditation by the ACCSCT. Atlanta School of Massage has been accredited by ACCSCT since 1988, and has achieved re-accreditation for the maximum five-year terms since then, most recently in July 2003. Accreditation by IMSTAC was first achieved in November 1999 for the maximum five-year term. IMSTAC re-accreditation occurred in November, 2003. Atlanta School of Massage is also certified by the State of Georgia's Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (NPEC).
Year Established: 1980 Graduates per Year: 100 Description: Repetition is your "Key to Education". The massage training classes included in our 750-hour curriculum are systematically designed to remind you of what was presented earlier in the program so recalling information is almost automatic. This is not boring repetition of content, but a unique massage therapy training method of tying new ideas to existing concepts. The secret lies in the sequence of classes which is just as important as content. Other schools offer a basic massage course with advanced courses tacked on at the end: you bought the puzzle but it is still in the box. You are expected to figure out how to put it all together yourself. Atlanta School of Massage is different. Our massage therapy training classes feature an integrated approach to teaching that includes the following features:
Massage training classes designed to maximize learning and retention in the classroom
Comprehensive reviews prior to all mid term and final examinations
Advanced courses seamlessly integrated into a single therapeutic modality
Opportunities to gain real world experience in our student clinic under the watchful eye of a practicing massage therapist.
