Are you ever ready?
by Lynsey
(England)
I spent a lot of time trying to decide whether or not to start as a business, and the truth is that you never really know you are ready until you try!
I started with friends and family at home and then moved up to the next stage of going mobile and visiting my clients in their own homes, to volunteering at a local elderly residents housing complex, only when my client base got too big for me to manage on my own did I think about opening a business, and I must say I wish I had been brave enough to do it form the start!
I love my business, my premises allow me to create the perfect ambiance to carry out a massage, something which isn't always achievable when visiting clients at home, and employing other therapists allows me some time of when I need it but whilst still keeping my clients happy and content.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend joining a franchise if you have a big enough client base yourself then there really is no need, if not then try getting a part time job in a salon to build up your clients, I'm a firm believer in the fact that the best employer for you is YOU!
