Alpha School of Massage in Jacksonville, Fl.

by Chuck
(Jacksonville)

Alpha School of Massage ia simply amazing! While most massage schools charge from $6,000 to $12,000 for a 500 hour program and some charge $16,000 to $20,000 for longer programs, Alpha charges absolutely no tuition for the 900 hour massage therapy program.

They have been allowing students to train in massage therapy for more than 2 years without charging any tuition! Find that anywhere else.

Don't be fooled by the staff or enrollment personnel at other schools that say things such as "you get what you pay for" or
"if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". They are just trying to make this school sound bad so they can get your money. Alpha is one of the best schools in Florida!!

Even with grants and student loans, most students that finish massage school start off owing thousands of dollars before they can even get their massage license. I spoke with a girl last week that quit attending Heritage Institute after 4 months and found out she owes them $3,000. She had grants and student loans and thought they covered her costs to attend the school Not so!
Had she finished the training there, she would have owed over $6,000 even with the grants, help, etc. She was visiting the school getting information about transferring while I was there getting a student massage. If she had been attending Alpha, she would not owe anything.

Even though the "no tuition" massage training at Alpha School of Massage is wonderful and inexpensive, it is not a "cheap" or "cutrate" program. The program is "top-notch". They teach medical massage, neuromuscular therapy , swedish massage and many other types of massage.

Their instructors are awesome! Three of their instructors have been teaching massage for over 10 years. One of them even received an award from the Florida Board of Massage for his contributions to the massage profession.

So, why listen to representatives of other schools bad-mouth this school so they can get your money, when Alpha School of Massage actually has experienced, well-trained instructors, a large and well-equiped building (6,000 square feet), and absolutely "NO TUITION".

Oh, and this is important: Alpha currently has a 100% pass rate for the students from their 900 hour "no tuition" program! Even if they don't continue this great rate, they have always had a good passing rate for the licensing exam.

So, if you or somebody you know is considering a career in massage therapy, you should visit this school before making that decision. What you actually get is a wonderful education and great massage experience, even though there is no tuition.

Their graduates frequently come back to the school to visit the staff and thank them for this wonderful opportunity.

If you are wondering how I know all this stuff, it is simple. I have been receiving student massages at this school for years.
The massages have always been pleasing, so I can vouch for the effectiveness of the training. The students I speak with seem genuinely happy to be attending the school. I also talk to the staff and have learned much about this school over the years I have been receiving massage there. Actually, I can't find anything wrong with this school.

If you are not interested in training for a career in massage therapy, you should still visit them and get a great student massage. They only charge $30 per hour, and I think the massages are are good as any massage I have received from a licensed therapist.

This shouldn't be a site for advertisement but I'm sure the quote - unquote head instructor (cough cough) doesn't agree with that. I'm even skeptical that he may be the author of this blog I'm relying to. HA HA! My advise to any prospective students: RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Pay the tuition elsewhere, take out a student loan if you have to! Anything is better than being under the thumb of "head instructor". TRUST ME! I wish that I had the opportunity to ask the students before I had enrolled what their own experiences had been at the school. The rules change at any moment, many of which are not documented. You will be there much longer than expected, making money for the school instead of yourself. Expect to do at least 300 PLUS massages on the public during your time, this is the norm. And keep in mind that he can add more massages to you whenever he chooses, no matter what. A control freak? Quite definately!
