A Healing Touch

Just Us Chicks
I knew I've always had that "special touch". Co-workers would say just that very thing. I was always being drawn to the tenseness I sensed, not only in people, but in animals, too. On our farm, I had this uncanny ability to draw animals and my experimentation of messages started with my horses and then the dogs, the cats and at the moment my gerbil, "Zoom-Zoom"...go figure, he love it. I watched the gate of our horses, the rhythm and cadence, the movement of each limb and examined my own joints and muscles as well. I rode incredible race horses for a short while, and my hands became very strong and soft to the touch. The closing of the eyes, the relaxation, the stretching, and the quivering of the lower lip on my horses told me I was hitting the right spots and after that, they were practically mud to mess with, so giving them a massage AFTER a ride was much better timing... Being raised in a medical environment, I was facinated by the human anatomy, musculature and how the body moved and functioned. I had a natural affinity and aptitude for medicine. I went to surgery with my father many times and made rounds with him at the hospital. Later, as medicine became more and more controlled by insurances and the Pharma industry, I opted for a less intrucive occupation...bringing me back to massage therapy every time. I graduated from Eureka College last May, 2008, with my B. A. in Communication, but the nagging desire to become a certified massage therapist still lingered, so I'm heading full speed into a program starting June 1. I'm so excited and can't wait to get my hands on someone. I'd love to start a mobile unit or work in a luxurious spa or private cruise ship. I can't wait.
